Non-stick Anti Graffiti CoatingGRAFFITI PROOFER® ANTI-STICK
The GPA-200 Graffiti Proofer Anti-Stick is a highly fluorinated and extremely durable coating. It utilizes a proprietary fluoro-polyol synthesized by SEI that has the highest concentration of fluorine and the greatest number of reactive sites of any fluorinated system on the market today. These two facts directly impact the coatings anti-stick performance and cross link density. GPA-200 provides unmatched anti-stick, self cleaning, chemical, UV and weathering resistant characteristics. The GPA-200 is the world's first graffiti deterrent coating as many spray paints will simply run off, thus deterring the vandal from continuing. This coating is impervious to UV degradation and it is highly resistant to hydrocarbons, corrosion, graffiti and a wide variety of chemicals. GPA-200 is a solvent based coating that is zero VOC. It is single component and has a pot life of 4-7 hours depending on relative humidity and temperature. The 200 is applied in 1 or 2 coats depending on the porosity of the substrate. Typical coverage rates vary from 100 sq. ft per gal for very pourus surfaces to 350 sq. ft. per gal over metal (based on at 1.5 to 2 Mils DFT). It can be brush, roll or spray applied. See Product Data and MSDS for further information.
GPA-200 was applied over this white brick with the red circle. Black graffiti was sprayed onto the GPA-200. This represents GPA-200 protecting a mural. PERFORMANCE CHARACTERISTICS • Outstanding Hydrophobic and Oleophobic surface properties. • High end anti-stick and release properties. • Highly flexible, non-stick and outstanding impact and abrasion resistance. • Highly resistant to attack by micro-organisms, hydrocarbons, chemical products and UV radiation. • Its complex vehicle gives excellent durability and adhesion with interior and exterior use. • Provides protection and penetration of water.
COVERAGE 1srt Coat: Fog or tack coat, 2nd coat applied wet on wet 10-20 minutes after first. Coverage (theoretical) - Non-pourus: 1st Coat: 300-350 sq. ft. per mixed gallon 2nd Coat: 250-300 sq. ft. per mixed gallon
CURING Dry Time: @ 21C / 70F ambient air cure Tack-Free: 4-6 Hours Hard Cure: 12-16 hours Full Cure: 24-36 days Elevated Curing: 40C - 60C / 105F - 140F for 40 minutes
POT LIFE 4-7 Hours @ 21C / 70F, 2 Hours @ 32C / 90F; however, these times may vary with environmental or climatic conditions. This material and its components are moisture sensitive. The product should be kept covered at all times after mixing and during application to prevent contamination and prevent moisture absorption.
STORAGE & HANDLING Hazardous Goods: Paint, Flammable Liquid, UN1263 Class III Hazchem 3YE VOC content: 0 grams per liter - 100% solid resin with the use of an exempt solvent. Must be stored and handled in compliance with all current local regulations for flammable liquids. Store in cool, dry, well ventilated (5C-35C / 40F-95F) areas, out of direct sunlight and moisture. Shelf Life: 6 months from date of purchase. Ensure that the product is consistent in thickness after stirring, clear, flowable and transparent before using. MAINTANENCE Remove graffiti as soon as possible after surface has been vandalized. Success has been achieved by using one of the following depending on what is being removed and how long it has been there:
SAFETY & WARNING When applying product use an approved NIOSH respirator, approved gloves, skin protection and/or protective clothing and eye protection. If you scrape, sand, or remove old paint, you may release lead dust or fumes. LEAD IS TOXIC. EXPOSURE TO LEAD DUST OR FUMES CAN CAUSE SERIOUS ILLNESS, SUCH AS BRAIN DAMAGE, ESPECIALLY IN CHILDREN. PREGNANT WOMEN SHOULD ALSO AVOID EXPOSURE. Wear a properly fitted NIOSH-approved respirator and prevent skin contact to control lead exposure. Clean up carefully with a HEPA vacuum and a wet mop. Before you start, find out how to protect yourself and your family by contacting the USEPA National Lead Information Hotline at 1-800-424-LEAD or log on to www.epa.gov/lead. In Canada contact a regional Health Canada office. Follow these instructions to control exposure to other hazardous substances that may be released during surface preparation. Spray equipment must be handled with due care and in accordance with manufacturer's recommendation. High-pressure injection of coatings into the skin by airless equipment may cause serious injury, requiring immediate medical attention at a hospital. Read all label and Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) information prior to use. *GPA-200 must be used within 6 months from date of purchase - the product is not usable thereafter.
